Hereford FC may announce the name of a new striker at some stage today in advance of the visit of Nuneaton tomorrow.
That's assuming head coach Marc Richards comments after last Saturday's defeat by Brackley in the FA Trophy have come to fruition.
Asked if the club was looking for another striker, he replied "Yes, nice short answer, 100% we are."
Then asked if anything would happen before next week he replied "Fingers crossed, yes, fingers crossed."
The need for a goal scorer is obvious. The Bulls have scored just 22 league goals to date this season. And that's less than a goal per game, .92 to be precise.
Even bottom side Nuneaton have scored more. 25 goals in their 26 games is .96 of a goal per game.
Obviously Marc Richards doesn't sign the players, that's down to head of football Tim Harris.
Hopefully Harris will have done the business.
Meanwhile the name of a back-up keeper is also expected to be revealed in the next day or so.
Last Saturday, Hereford didn't keep a keeper on the bench.
