After this afternoon's 2-2 draw against Nuneaton, Mike Symons spoke to BBC Hereford and Worcester. Credit to the striker who admitted he was at fault for Nuneaton's two goals.
"I thought we started the game lively for the first fifteen," said the Hereford striker.
"Bit sloppy at times after that but we managed to get a goal in front and then give away two silly goals.
"I have to hold my hand up there, it was my resposibility. My man scored twice from two set-plays. I don't think that has ever happened to me before. Fair play to him he got the run of me twice. It's not good enough from me.
"Going in 2-1 down, so we had to try and get out in the second half.
"We got an early goal so I thought we would go on and win the game but we just couldn't get that third goal.
"A massively frustrating and disappointing afternoon."
There was more energy from Hereford in the second half?
"There needed to be really as the first half wasn't good enough so we had to come out and show that desire to get on the ball, desire to get in the final third and create opportunities.
"The early goal helped and then we got in some good areas but it was that final ball at times or shooting at the keeper - it wasn't meant to be.
"We've got a long trip to Guiseley on Tuesday night now so we need to put that right."
Hereford's first goal was scored by Owen-Evans after the Nuneaton keeper came too far out of his area.
"He's done well today as he scored the penalty as well.
"He got in a good position, got around the keeper. Obviously off-balance managed to sneak it in to the near post
"At 1-0 at home you think let's get on with the game but we just got sloppy.
"Give them a bit of credit they tried to play and put us on the back foot but when you give away two silly goals you kill yourselves and that's what we did."
