Former Hereford FC manager Peter Beadle has been linked to the manager's vacancy at Tamworth according to BirminghamLive.
Dennis Greene, previously in charge, left two weeks ago.
As well as Beadle, Alvechurch manager Ian Long, has been suggested as a possibility along with the managers of Stratford and Sutton Coldfield amidst others.
Narey met Beadle at the National Game Awards last year and he presented Beadle with the Step Three manager of the year award.
He spoke to him afterwards and asked him about his hopes and ambitions for the forthcoming season in the National North.
Beadle was adamant that 'consolidation was the way forward'. However he was sacked after eight league games, three wins, three defeats and two draws.
Sadly, said Navey, Hereford are now in a relegation dog-fight despite their 3-2 win at Blyth last Saturday.
"I don’t know why clubs do it. Seriously, did Hereford think they could swing the doors open of the National North Saloon and start picking their rivals off with ease? Did they seriously think there was a man better placed than Beadle to do the job? Call it arrogance or boardroom mismanagement, either way, sacking Beadle is one of the worst decisions we’ve witnessed all season."
