A former Hereford United goalkeeper, Andy Quy, is one of the key men in Nathan Jones's backroom team at Stoke City.
Jones took charge of Stoke for the first time last night after the club sacked Gary Rowett and Quy was close-by.
Now 42, Quy joined Hereford United in 1997 and made 93 appearances for the club before his career was cut short by injury.
In 2007 he joined Stoke City as goalkeeping coach and has been there ever since.
This from StokeonTrentLive:
Keeper came through the ranks at Tottenham and had spells at Derby and Grimsby before becoming number one at Hereford United.
Took coaching badges young – and needed them early after an
injury-enforced retirement. Worked in the youth set-ups at Derby and
Aston Villa and with the seniors at Lincoln before joining Stoke in
2007, the season they won promotion to the Premier League.
Regularly spotted in the stands for Stoke matches at youth level too.
