Results are the most important thing for Hereford at the minute and not the performances, that's the opinion of defender Josh Gowling after this afternoon's 1-0 win against Kidderminster Harriers.
The former Harriers defender says that the Bulls dug in and got the result against a better team today.
"We've been playing well over the last couple of weeks, but it's a bit of a weird one because they played better than us today," Gowling told BBC Hereford and Worcester.
"We ground it out, dug in and got a goal at the end.
"They're a great team and play some good football. Their manager works hard with them and the players that I know have a lot of ability and a lot of talent.
"We knew it was going to be like that so sat in and were hard to break down. Hopefully we'd get something on the counter attack and got the penalty at the end."
It was the first clean sheet for Hereford in the league since August, and Gowling said it's just what Hereford need.
With the performance not quite the standard that was seen at Bradford (Park Avenue) on Saturday, Gowling said that's it's the points on the board that matter at the moment.
"Definitely. I know Ashley Chambers well as I played with him at Grimsby so it's good to get one over on him! But it's just what we need.
"We need to start getting up the league and getting results. It doesn't matter how we play at the minute we just need points on the board.
"I've been around the game quite a long time so I like to think I can come in and use my experience to speak to the lads and coach some of the lads through. We have got some young lads but they've got some great ability, great talent and they listen.
"You've seen how we've played over the last couple of weeks and we have got ability."
"I think we should have got at least a point at Bradford but today it's kind of flipped around maybe. They had the lions share of the ball, but that's what you've got to do when you play against top teams.
"You've got to be strong, resilient and you've got to take chances when you get them."
