Matt Yates is on loan at Hereford from Derby County |
Gloucester City manager Chris Todd says his side have had goalkeeping problems ever since Matt Yates was recalled from his loan spell at the club.
Derby County youngster Yates then joined Hereford as cover while Martin Horsell was injured. Then on Saturday Bulls News learned that the Tigers had put in a seven day approach for the 31-year-old.
Gloucester signed Jojo Wollacott from Bristol City on a three month loan on Friday, so it's not thought Horsell is still a target.
Chris Todd say since Yates was recalled by his parent club, the players have been largely unsettled.
"It’s safe to say that we’ve had problems in this position ever since Matt Yates joined Hereford," Todd told Gloucester's official website.
"Since then we’ve been largely unsettled with players injured or on international duty, the lads who came in did well and I want to thank them for their contribution. To finally get Jojo through the door however is a massive boost for us going into Christmas.
"Having worked with him previously at Truro, he’s a player I’ve been working hard to get into the Club since I joined and I’m delighted to have finally got him, with his talent and experience at this level, he’ll be a great addition to the squad."
Jojo has National League experience after spending time at Woking last season, and more recently has been in and around the Bristol City first team
He then had a spell at National League South side Truro City, which included the two FA Cup games against Hereford earlier this season.
