Hereford FC's Under 18's were knocked out of the FA Youth Cup last night, defeated 3-1 by a stronger, quite physical Long Eaton side.
It was a return to a ground which the senior side played at on a Thursday night right at the end of their season in the Midland League.
Manager Dan Chance opted to go with a side that won last week but right from the start Long Eaton dictated much of the game.
However whilst the game finished 3-1, two of Long Eaton's goals came from mistakes from the Hereford defence.
Their first goal came from a free kick. Goalkeeper Powell was not quite able to keep it out.
Hereford soon got one back when a free kick was deflected into the net by a defender.
Then followed what was probably the visitor's best part of the game. Chance had brought on three subs and the young Bulls looked more promising going forward.
But just before the final whistle Long Eaton made it 3-1 with an excellent lob from distance.
Overall a disappointing night for the Hereford youngsters who couldn't replicate the performance of their previous two cup ties.
