He went on to make 52 appearances for County and also went out on loan to Gloucester in 2016 and Truro earlier this year.
His move to Falkirk for an undisclosed fee came 'out of the blue.
“I was looking away from Newport after they said I wasn’t going to be around it this year," Owen-Evans told the South Wales Argus last June.
“There were a few Conference South teams lurking around for me but nothing special.
“My agent asked what I thought of Falkirk and I said straight away ‘I like the sound of that’.
Owen-Evans made seven appearances for Falkirk but was released last Wednesday.
He posted on Twitter: “Disappointed that my time at Falkirk has come to an end.
"Unfortunately it didn’t work out for me but I guess that’s football."
