Chester City made a loss of £45,672 in the year ending last May. Last January they were close to going out of business.
Fundraising and donations, which totalled £123,682, helped stem the losses.
Transfer fees for players sold came to £95,000. However matchday income fell to just £236,026 which was £34,000 less than the previous year. Commercial revenue dropped by just under £5,000 to £159,387.
Staff costs rose considerably to £736,614, an increase of over 20% in one year. Last season they were £605,000.
Meanwhile in other National North news, Damian Chadwick has resigned as Chief Executive of FC United of Manchester after nearly two years at the helm.
He took charge in November 2016 having joined from Bolton Wanderers FC where he was responsible for managing the year round operation of the Macron Stadium and the adjacent Bolton Arena.

The club says that it now operates at a profit as opposed to a loss-making situation when Chadwick was appointed.
