Shaun Tuton is set to leave Chester for Spennymore after they put in a seven day notice for the striker.
Chester joint manager Bernard Morley says that they have another striker lined up to replace Tuton.
Tuton is reported to be leaving Chester as they couldn't match an offer from Spennymore.
“I suppose losing Shaun Tuton has killed us a little bit,” said Morley as reported by the Chester Chronicle
“As soon as he had a good game or scored a couple of goals we knew it would create interest. Obviously Jason Ainsley (Spennymoor manager) has seen him have a good game on the opening day and thinks that he could do a job for them.
“We’re really disappointed to lose him as we thought he would be a big player for us. But you have to accept it for what it is."
Chester are now short of forwards with Deane Smalley unable to play until issues with the Welsh FA are resolved.
Hereford FC are set to travel to Chester on Bank Holiday Monday.
