Hereford FC captain Jordan Liburd was very pleased with today's 3-0 over Blyth Spartans.
Afterwards he spoke to BBC Hereford and Worcester.
To start Trevor Owens congratulated Liburd on being given the captain's arm-band.
"I've only been here half a season and for the management team to recognise what I've done, it's a proud moment.
"It's been a great game. I know the last few games have been against league squads but today we showed we can compete at this level.
"They finished just outside the play-offs last season and we've beaten them 3-0.
"We had most of the possession and were very rarely troubled until the last part of the game. We dominated and shown we are going to play in this league."
Hereford could have been more than two goals ahead by half-time.
"As the Gaffer said it's being clinical in the box. We had a few chances and a few good saves from their keeper. He did very well, a lot of reaction saves. It could have been four or five by half time.
"But we kept it solid and kept a clean sheet."
Eliot Richards scored Hereford's third goal.
"We were 2-0 and we didn't want to go pushing on to far so they could counter us on the break. We made sure we had two banks and stayed solid. We kept them out, we kept them playing in front of us and when they did get in behind us we were there and they had to go back.
"And that's how we got our third goal, they were trying to press and their defence was all over the place to allow Eliot to get through.
"We made sure they didn't have any options in the second half although they had more of the ball."
It's Nuneaton on Tuesday.
"Everyone needs to recover properly. Get plenty of fluids. We were weighing ourselves after the game. We've lost six pounds, it just shows the heat, 28C, we were playing in.
"We'll be ready for Tuesday. It's not too far away so it's not a long travel. Blyth have travelled six hours today.
"But we still got to put in the effort and make sure we are ready."
