One
of Sierra Leone’s foreign based players, Mustapha Bundu, who plays for
AGF Aarhus Danish Superliga league said he wants to take his club to a
higher height in the 2018-2019 league season.
According to Bundu, 21, he is aiming to score over ten goals in his second full season after scoring six goals last season in all competitions. “I will like to get double figures this coming season,” he said. “And probably get my team to a higher and better position in the league.”
Bundu, whose contract up until summer 2021, has challenged himself. “I would love to score 10-plus goals and I think I am capable,” the striker said.
Aarhus GF kick-starts their season next weekend July 14 away to FC Champions Midtjylland.
Issa Kamara has said that Bundu has been impressive since joining the club and was rewarded a long-term deal.
He also revealed that Bundu spent a season at Hereford winning three trophies and reaching the FA Vase Final in 2016. Work authorization restrictions only allowed him to ply his trade in a club no higher than the 5th tier in the English Football league system which forced him to leave Hereford.
The goalscorer returned briefly to spectate one of their games, a 6-0 thrashing of Brigwater Town FC in the Southern Football league.
When visiting a friend, he featured for Newquay A F C once, netting two goals in less than thirty minutes as a substitute.
Then coach Sash Wheatman acclaimed him as “the best player he’s had the privilege of watching at this level of football”, adding “it was like bringing on Ronaldo or Gareth Bale.”
