Lads Club manager Danny Moon speaking to Matt Healey after last year's 3-0 defeat in the final |
Hereford Lads Club manager Danny Moon says it's a big achievement to reach the final of the County Cup two seasons in a row as they once again meet Hereford on Bank Holiday Monday.
Moon hopes to improve on last year's performance with the Bulls lifting the cup after a 3-0 win, but admits it'll be a tougher task this year.
Moon, who came off the bench last time around, said: "I think we’ve done very well to reach a final two years running. It's a big achievement for our club to come so far in a short space of time. We’re showing consistency by doing it.
"Playing Hereford FC is a great occasion, as much as it’s a very hard opponent to play, we have to find a way to compete. Last year we managed to do that for 70 minutes. Hoping we can improve on that, but Hereford are a much stronger side this year and will be a difficult challenge."

In last year's final John Mills scored twice, both from set pieces, which saw him score his 100th goal in a Bulls shirt, with Mike Symons also finding the back of the net.
Moon added: "We will have to be a lot more disciplined in our defending and sharper on the ball. The three league difference will be a big gap to close. But with our young squad, our players would like to be at that standard. Like every week we will give it our best shot, we will have a good go at Hereford and see what happens.
"I think our performance was very good last year for the 70 minutes, we obviously tired towards the end, but the three goals were all set pieces so it's something we need to improve on, but to not concede a goal in open play was superb from us against an inform strike force."
It's Lads Club's first season in the West Midlands (Regional) League and Moon says the players have been a credit to the side. Recently they've have been playing three times a week, with four more games to come before the end of the season.
"As a club the season has been very good, a mid table finish, a cup final and a semi final in our league cup with a game to come.
"It’s been very good, but for me it’s always about improvement. We’ve ended up with 6 x 17 years olds in our last game, were young and hungry to succeed.
"The players have been a credit this season, just one very big push to compete against a very good championship winning team."
Tonight (Tuesday) Lads Club travel to Cradley Town for the quarter-final of the League Cup.
