Shrewsbury Town are the first club in England and Wales to be allowed to install safe standing at their ground.
Work started this morning to take seats out of their Salop Leisure South Stand.
"The plan is for them to get most of the seats out today and then start
working on installing the safe standing units, so it’s a nice sight to
see them starting the work," said Shrewsbury's CEO Brian Caldwell.
"It’s going to hopefully help the atmosphere going forward.
"The fact that we are getting the Safe Standing units to be the first installed in England and Wales, starting today, is going to be huge and there will be media interest on the club again."
