Hereford won the league at Biggleswade on Tuesday evening with three games to spare, assistant manager Steve Jenkins said the Bulls did exactly what they set out to do.
The former Merthyr Town manager said: "We were pretty calm on the side, it might have been tense for the fans!
"The pitch determined what type of game it was going to be, it was never going to be a game of fast-flowing football, it was going to be a little bit direct. We came to do a job and that's what we did.
"It's incredible in terms of what the fans do, the miles they cover throughout the season, it's absolutely fantastic. They were a little bit quiet tonight, I think they were more nervous than us. It was a little bit tense, but the scenes at the end you can't buy them and you've got to enjoy them while you can.
"The great thing is we've bounced back from losing two when people might have questioned us, but we never question ourselves. We've shown we know what it takes to win championships and that's been proven over the past three years."
Next up for Hereford is a top of the table clash at home to Kettering. There are very few tickets left for home fans, but having already wrapped up the title it's taken some pressure of the players.
"They'll be relieved that it's done, but I hope that it doesn't take away their focus. I don't think it will because they're a professional bunch of players, they've got good focus and they've just got to keep it now because we've still got three games to play.
"Saturday's will have a big bearing on the play-offs, so hopefully they'll be relaxed but they'll be switched on and focussed for the task in hand."
