Garyn Preen says his time with Hereford helped him develop as a player, but was disappointed to be released earlier this week.
The 26-year old also thanked the fans who backed him during his spell at Edgar Street and said the club are only heading in the right direction.
Preen told Bulls News: "There are many positives to take from my time at Hereford. The obvious one is the FA Cup run and how well the team has done to exceed already high expectations, as well as the winning league form the squad has shown so far during this current campaign.
"Although it didn't quite workout how I had expected, I've definitely developed as a player and as a person. I'll miss training and playing with the players as I've met some good people which I'll keep in contact with.
"I'm disappointed to be leaving the club, Hereford is a massive club and are only going forward. The fanbase and the facilities the club has is second to none."
Unlike Calvin Dinsley, who was also told he was free to find a new club on Monday, Preen won't be taking a break from the sport.
"A few clubs have been in contact," said Preen.
"But my plan right now is to focus on playing regular games and finishing the season strong. I had contemplated taking some time away from the game as I found myself not really enjoying it due to lack of game time in recent weeks, but I believe I can still offer a lot elsewhere.
"Finally, I would like to thank all the staff within the club as well as all the players, and the thousands of fans that have supported me throughout my time at Hereford - during the highs and the lows. I'm sure I will see you all again sometime in the future."
