After tonight's AGM at Edgar Street, shareholders in Hereford FC were given the chance to put their questions to the board.
The first question was about the capacity of Edgar Street.
Currently there are around 300 seats which can't be used for health and safety and/or fire regulations. There could be some changes to the accesses. A meeting is set to take place shortly with the revelent authorities.
The club was wary that if capacity was increased to over 5000 then insurance cover would rise.
Then questions about finance.
The club must be sustainable. The board were getting more regular updates about income and expenditure.
The aim for the next few seasons was to keep ticket prices for children as low as possible. Season ticket prices would also be kept attractive but matchday tickets would need to rise if Hereford moves up the Leagues.
And a question about catering.
The decision not to do the catering in-house was explained by director George Webb. He had spoken to directors at Merthyr who had brought their catering in-house recently and had started to lose money on it. Pilfering was mentioned. Webb felt that having a regular income for catering was a better bet than the club trying to run it.
Part of the problem he said was that there are only home games once a fortnight or so. Stock can go out of date and it's hard to recruit staff whereas if an outside company is running the catering they can move stock to another venue.
There's more money in hospitality he said.
Then a question about if/when the club might go full-time.
The answer was that it's very unlikely to go full time next season if promoted.
Manager Peter Beadle is on a 12 month rolling contract so if another club came in for him Hereford would receive compensation.
Finally HUST presented a cheque for £15,000 to the club for some more shares.
