Lee Mills At Kington Yesterday - Pictures From Andy Compton |
It's quite surprising how many former Hereford United players remain in the game after giving up playing.
One such is Lee Mills, no relation to John Mills.
Lee Mills signed for Hereford United in August 2004 after quitting Telford who had real financial problems at the time. Manager Graham Turner knew all about Mills as he spent £15,000 on the
striker when manager of Wolverhampton Wanderers. Mills was then playing
for Non League outfit Stocksbridge Steels.
After Wolves, Mills went on to play for Port Vale, Bradford City, Portsmouth, Coventry and Stoke, twice attracting fees of over £1M for his signature.
During his team with Hereford Mills scored nine goals.
Currently Mills is coach of Team Dudley and yesterday they played at Kington Town in the West Midlands Regional League Division One.
Kington won the game 3-2 with their manager Sam Bowen, father of former Hereford United player Jarrod who is at Hull, coming on as a substitute.
