Sad news this morning that Cyrille Regis, a West Brom legend, has died at just 59 years old.
He had a number of connections with Hereford over the years.
The above photo from the BBC was taken in 1979. It shows
an all black XI at West Bromwich who played a white XI at the Hawthorns
in 1979. The match took place as part of Len Cantello's testimonial.
The 'Black' XI won the game 2-1 with Hereford United's Stewart Phillips scoring the winning goal.

In October 2002 Regis visited Edgar Street.
Before the start of the game, Cyrille Regis,
the ex-England international, presented Welshmen Tony James and Paul
Parry with caps for their inclusion in the semi-professional tournament
which Wales won last spring. Regis attended the match as part of
Hereford United's 'Kick Racism Out Of Football' Day.
Meanwhile it's thought that Regis was former Hereford United player Tamika Mkandwire's agent.
Finally some footage from Chester City versus Hereford played in September 1995. Regis was Chester's number nine.
