Banbury Struggled To Cope With Us Said Beadle

Hereford manager Peter Beadle was pleased with his side's 3-0 win over Banbury this afternoon.

Beadle told BBC H&W's reporter Keith Hall that it was a professional performance.

"We started fairly well. We knew they [Banbury] were on a good run of form away from home, so to do what we did to limit them and score three goals, it was a proper professional performance.

"We expected them to be competitive, everyone who comes here is quite competitive. They're a fairly big side but they want to play the right way. They went a little bit more direct, and came with a game plan to get behind and around us."

Jamie Bird opened the scoring in the 12th minute with an ambitious strike.

"We got the decent strike for the first goal and then huffed and puffed without any real fluency.

"At half time we asked them to up the anti and be brighter, especially in the middle part of the pitch, and to demand the ball a little bit more.

"We did that second half and they struggled to cope with us at times."

Midfielder Calvin Dinsley, who started last weekend as a central defender, wasn't in the squad today.

"Not a recurrence of an injury. He trained on Thursday and when he went to have a shot he tweaked his knee a little bit.

"He's as frustrated as we are because he comes back, gets himself fit and plays like he did on Saturday and then he's out again. It's frustrating for both us and him, but hopefully it's nothing too major.
