No One Will Forget Today Said Beadle

In his post match interview with the Hereford media, Peter Beadle said how proud he was of his players following their 1-1 draw at Fleetwood in the second round of the FA Cup.

"I'm very proud of the players," said Beadle.

"It's been a big day, a big build up but I thought we showed fantastic character, real desire and as we've said all along the players we have here when they put the shirt on they wear it properly and they did that today and I think everyone could see that.

"We deserve to be in the third round draw."

Hereford scored first but it wasn't long before Fleetwood equalised.

"It's just a pity we couldn't hold onto the lead to half time, It would have been a big point to get to hal time.

"But it wasn't to be but the one good thing about conceeding that goal was that we didn't crumble. We stayed strong, firm and we matched them across the park.

"Horsell didn't have to make that many saves. The goal, one just before that, he tipped one wide, they hit the post near the end, a couple that flashed across the goal but no one was there. So actual chances they didn't have so many.

"I thought our back five were fantastic, the three in front of them considering we had two who haven't played for six weeks were brilliant and the three boys upfront they all put a real shift in. And the two who came on kept it going. Really proud of them.

"Delighted for the supporters, I'm sure they will go home singing. I'm just pleased they came and gave us the backing as they always do."

Beadle was asked if he had thought at 2.30pm that the goalscoring hero would be Calvin Dinsley?

"Of couse not, Purds pulled out during the warm up so looking at the bench we needed a midfielder with maybe a bit more physicality in there so we played Calvin which was a bit of a gamble.

"But this time it paid off, he put in a great shift and came off just before the end. He was tired as he hadn't played for six weeks. So hopefully he'll recover well this week and maybe ready for Saturday."

Alongside Dinsley was Billy Murphy.

"His Hereford FC debut.

"Billy has come into the club after he got in touch saying he might be released by Bath and would we be interested. Of course we would. He's a quality footballer and we want quality footballers.

"On top of that he's also a character as he showed towards the end. He got cramp, he hasn't played for six weeks but stayed on, dug it out and did a job for us.

"He'll get better and better the more games and fitter he gets.

"So we are looking very strong now but today is all about the players and what they achieved out there."

What about the replay?

"I hope we can fill (the stadium) again and have the sort of start we had today but it will be a tough game.

"They showed their qualities, they showed what they are about.

"Could we try and improve a bit to give them more problems. We'll work on that between now and the replay.

"Bt whatever the draw is, what ever happens in the replay is that no one will forget today as it's been a fantastic achievement for the players to play a team 89 places above them and to hold them and to match them in many areas of the game.

"So I'm really proud of the players and what they've achieved and now hopefully we can take that into our league form."
