Tuesday's Southern Prem Review

Steve Whitney rounds up last night's games.

Hereford FC moved into second place in the Evo-Stik League South Premier table on Tuesday night following their comfortable win against third-bottom St Ives Town.

The Bulls virtually dominated the match from the start at Edgar Street in front of a crowd of 1,705.

First half goals from Tyrone Duffus after 19 minutes and a brace from top scorer John Mills in the 35th and 40th minutes saw Peter Beadle's side enjoy their half-time cuppas in happy mood.

Mills had an effort come back off the inside of the post before Mike Symons added a fourth for the home side 11 minutes from time.

Banbury twice fought back from a goal behind to earn a point against high-flying Slough at the Spencer Stadium.

James Dobson gave the Rebels an early 7th minute lead that recent signing Ellit Sandy cancelled out after 24 minutes.

Banbury's best home performance for some time looked like counting for nothing when Chris Flood restored Slough's lead with 13 minutes left to play.

However, Leam Howards popped up with an 87th equaliser for the Puritans.

Redditch United recovered from two consecutive league defeats to inflict a comfortable 4-1 win against a Frome Town side who started the game ahead of the Reds in the table.

But it was a commanding win for Darren Byfield's side at the Trico Stadium with new signing Ashley Sammons giving them a 21st minute lead.

And just 3 minutes later, Dior Angus doubled the Reds lead with almost a replica finish to the opener.

And the home side made a blistering start to the second half with two goals in 3 minutes from Orrin Pendley and then Kevin Montero.

Frome got one back from Mitchell Page from a corner after 64 minutes, but the damage had already been done.

Stratford Town pulled themselves up to eighteenth in the table after a 3-1 home win over fellow strugglers, Kings Langley.

It took half-an-hour for Stratford to make the breakthrough with Will Grocott on target, and just 3 minutes later, Dan Summerfield added a second to take them into the break two-up.

However, a Loyiso Recci own goal 8 minutes into the second half gave Kings hope, but Ben Stephens made sure there was to be no comeback when he added Stratford's third in the 63rd minute.

Chesham United, who hit 13 last weekend against beleaguered Merthyr Town, couldn't find one at The Meadow on Tuesday as they shared a 0-0 draw with Farnborough.

And the evening's other game saw mid-table sides Biggleswade Town and Royston Town share a 1-1 Carlsberg Stadium stalemate.

Connor Hall gave the Waders a great start with the opening goal in just 6 minutes.

John Frendo pulled the Crows back on level terms on the half-hour mark, but neither side were able to find a winner.
