Preview: Hereford vs Potters Bar Town

Ben Chilman previews tomorrow's FA Trophy game against Potters Bar:

The Bulls have had all but a perfect week with a fantastic record crowd cheering them on in the FA Cup first round victory over AFC Telford. Then, midweek, a youthful side featured in the HFA quarter finals against Tenbury in a slightly one-sided affair! On top of all this cup fever it was easy to miss that league leaders Kings Lynn had lost at home to 14th placed Chesham United.

The Bulls continue to struggle with injuries, as midfielder Calvin Dinsley came off early in the first half and is expected to be out for a couple of weeks. Fellow midfielder Mike McGrath still remains sidelined with a leg injury.

Tuesday night saw the return of striker Jamie Cuss who got half an hour of football under his belt. However Dan Preston was subbed off with a knee injury but it’s thought he should be available for the weekend.

Potters Bar Town, playing in maroon and white, are a former school team. This is the furthest they have come in the FA Trophy since 2011/12, with a coach load of supporters coming to Edgar Street this weekend.

Before rushing to the thesaurus to find another way of saying “perhaps this isn’t their year”, consider the Scholars’ man in form Eoin Casey. The striker has 14 goals in 13 appearances this season with the team set up to play in and around the forward. However, he did miss a penalty in the last game out against Cheshunt, a 2-2 draw.

Having won just 3 of their 8 games in October they sit in 10th place in the Isthmian League Division One North, 11 points off the top, hoping for a playoff spot come the end of the season.

Tickets are on sale from Edgar street via the club shop and online. Kick off tomorrow is 3pm for what could be three wins, in three cups, in one week.
