Farnborough Given Replay in Trophy

Despite failing to fulfil their FA Trophy second qualifying round tie against Banbury, the FA have given Farnborough a second chance.

The match couldn't go ahead after only six Farnborough players arrived at Banbury, but the FA won't sanction the club and have granted a replay which will take place on Saturday.

A Farnborough statement said: "The Club pleaded guilty to not fulfilling the fixture (as clearly we didn’t) but having shown the mitigating circumstances, the FA ordered the game to be replayed, no fine or costs were ordered against the Club and we are grateful to the committee."

But for Banbury, their manager says it's a frustrating situation to be in.

Mike Ford told the Banbury Guardian: "The situation we found ourselves in was very frustrating but the FA has made it’s decision and we just have to get on with it. We’ll be very keen to win the game on Saturday."
