After Hereford 5-0 win over Hitchin, manager Peter Beadle spoke to the local media.
"The win was great but the performance was exceptional," said Beadle.
"We obviously feel asleep a little bit for their penalty but fortunately for us he tried to wind it up and ended up slipping over.
"To get the third one was good and we asked the players second half to be efficient and manage the game properly.
"We started the second half great, a couple of chances from corners and then got the penalty.
"I thought everybody to a man, a bit like Tuesday, were excellent, the work-rate was spot on and the quality of the play was very good.
"We won it 5 against a team that have been on a very good run and there won't be very teams who will put 5 past them home or away.
"But it could have been a lot more with the chances we've had and the keeper has been magnificent for them.
"So all in all a really good day, hopefully not too many knocks so a clean bill of health, a clean sheet and five goals at home."
Two new players started the game this afternoon, Tyrone Duffus and Cameron Pring.
"I think you could have given man of the match to either one of them with the way they played. Again remember they are only 20 years of age, they are young but they've got good schooling behind them.

"They haven't trained with the team at all yet so to come in and play like that cold I though the pair were exceptional and either one of them could have got man of the match.
"They were backed up well by the other nine men who I thought were exceptional on the day too."
Interviewer Keith Hall felt the 'movement was so impressive today'.
"We said on the bench this is what we are all about, this is how we should be. Whether it was because of the balance or because one or two people are looking at the bench and saying I need to up my performance because the bench is strong again and we've got another player sat in the stands who is not available yet but he's sat there watching.
"We've got the other boys who are now starting to come back from their injuries, Dan Preston, Pablo Haysham, Mike Mcgrath, Calvin Dinsley. Hopefully Pablo and Calvin won't be too long or Dan. Macca is going to be a little bit longer. Where do we fit those three in?
"You look at the early part of the season when we were on a really good run of performances and results. It's when we are at our strongest as in numbers. Maybe that plays a small part in it as well as people look at the bench and look at the people coming in and it gives them that little bit more impotus.
"Not that we haven't played well recently. I thought we played really well last Saturday, really well on Tuesday, but today against a team like that I think that really sets a benchmark for us and makes a statement to the rest of the teams that even though we are on these cup runs we are not taking our foot off the pedal."
Next on Tuesday is St Ives on Tuesday and time to do it again.
"That's the challenge, it's that consistancy.
"People say that players are at this level for that reaon, that they don't consistantly perform to the levels. We've done it quite consistantly through the last two seasons. So it's really important we do the same on Tuesday.
"If we give that work-rate as we have done today, we play with the same fluency that we have done today then if the performance is right nine times out of ten the result takes care of itself.
"Tuesday is really important as it's one of our games in hand, we make the most of it."
Beadle was asked about the partnership of John Mills and Lance Smith.
"I thought they were brilliant today, John had an off day in front of goal. Over the bar first half, keepers make a great save from another one first half, then his missed penalty, then another great save second half, so he's had one of those days today.
"But what he did do helped to Lance's goals. So today they complimented one another and now it's can they do the same on Tuesday. It's the challenge you put in front of them, you've done that today, can you do it on Tuesday.
"We been lucky enough to change a few today. The two wide boys were exceptional with the work they did today, then we got the other two on for twenty minutes or so.
"So we are looking in a very strong position again with bodies back to fitness and players who have joined us. So it's important we keep that momentum going."
Eliot Richards was at the game.
"He hasn't signed as yet. His transfer papers have been signed today so we need to wait for Merthyr to say that's gone through.
"We've showed an interest in Eliot for sometime. We tried to sign him in the summer and in fact we went in for him before we knew about the troubles at Merthyr.
"So once the transfer forms are signed and Merthyr have agreed to the transfer then we need to wait for clearance. The sooner the better as he's fit and wants to be playing and he'll bring another dimension to the team. Hopefully not too long for clearance."
