After Hereford won this afternoon's game against Dorchester 4-1. manager Peter Beadle spoke to the media.
Keith Hall started the interview by asking Beadle what he had said at half-time given Hereford were losing 1-0 at that point.
"Not a lot, not a lot," said Beadle
"The players have set their standards and it was just about, I think certainly first half they certainly had more running in their legs than we did and it looked like they wanted it more than we did. And we needed to change at half-time.
"So it wasn't a huge amount that needed to be said really.
"The system hadn't caused us a huge problem. It was more about desire and willingness to run off the ball as well and they understood that and they hold their hands up. It hadn't been quite right, there's no excuses of we've kicked up the slope in most games this season and we've done alright in most of them.
"It's not a physological thing and I just said to the players after the game, when things don't go great, or we don't have a great start or we take a while to get going, there's still a responsibility to the team to put that effort in, put that committment in to close them all down, work hard.
"Then it doesn't matter how good you are as footballers you've still got to earn the right to play. We didn't earn the right first half.
"Fair play to Dorchester they took their chance and caused us one or two problems.
"But second half once we came out in the first five minutes we showed a bit more zip, a bit more zest and a bit more tempo to our game.
"We started to get on top and then it was a case of once we got the first goal hopefully we can get a couple more. We scored some fantastic goals today.
"I thought our front four were very quiet first half and we couldn't get the ball to them for whatever reason. The system they were playing, three in the middle of the park, you would have thought it would have quite simple to get the ball to our wide players.
"They were being a little defensive, the two wide players were coming quite deep to get the ball. Normally they would have received it half way up the pitch. We couldn't get it to them in good areas of the pitch and it caused us to sit back and obviously with the way they played, one man in front of the two central halves, it was always difficult to get that ball to the front man on the feet.
"We ended up a bit frantic and caught up in the game, under a bit of pressure and the crowd getting a bit edgey. So the players started going a bit direct and it's not the way we play. We need to earn the right to play and we need to turn teams round early doors but today we couldn't get it going.
"But second half we were a little bit braver in possession, we moved the ball a little bit quicker, the tempo was better and we showed what we are about."
Keyon Reffell was the sponsors man of the match.
"He's another one who isn't playing in his favourite position. He's more of a centre forward or a 10. With the system we started the season with, three players behind a front man on his own, would have worked great but with the players we've got we don't think we can use that system.
"But I thought once he got into the game in the second half and he got his goal and one or two assists after that, I thought he was superb. He's a fantastic player and we're really glad to have him here.
"Once he goes past players, he's hard to catch as he showed with his goal which I thought was fantastic."
Beadle was then asked about the partnership between john Mills and Lance Smith.
"Again I thought the front four had a quiet game as a whole, first half especially. Second half John even made a sliding tackle in the second half, absolutely fantastic to see.
Then because of his hard work he gets his two goals, the second goal was pure class, pure genius. That's Millsy around the box and he took his penalty well, a stressfull situation with just having got back in the game at 1-1 he puts us 2-1 up and keeps the momentum going.

"They didn't link up as well as they have done in recent games but they certainly put a shift in second half as they all did.
"I think all of the players deserve credit second half with the way they came out and changed that ethos. We were so lack-lustre first half we had to switch it round which they did.
"Use it as a warning, no disrespect to Dorchester but there will be teams we won't be able to do that against because they will just nullify us. Again no disrespect to Dorchester but they will have better players and will be well drilled.
"I know Steve has only taken over recently and is implementing his style on them and first half they did very well.
"But we can't give away cheap goals as that could be the way it'll finish."
