Despite being knocked out of the FA Cup at Hereford, Hornchurch will have covered their trip and overnight stay given they receive around 45% of the gate money.
“I’d rather our run end in the cup than the league, as at the end of the day the league is our bread and butter,” said manager Jim McFarlane as reported by the Romford Recorder.
“In the second-half, whether they upped it or we never got going, either way they were good.
“We didn’t even look like scoring, which is very rare for us this season.”
The gate was 2440.
“It made it worth our while going up the night before as it paid for itself even though the club still had to pay for it upfront.
“That’s
how our club does things, they like to do things properly and on the
whole it was a nice game to be involved in and a great atmosphere.”
