Tomorrow's game against Weymouth is previewed by Ben Chilman:
Tomorrow the Bulls begin their FA Trophy campaign at home to Weymouth. The two sides met earlier in the season in the league where the Bulls ran out 2-0 winners thanks to goals from John Mills and a superb strike from now Solihull Moors left back James Bowen.
The teams are separated by just one point and two league places after the mid-week fixtures saw both sides drop points.
Hereford’s Tuesday night ended with a 2-2 draw away to Tiverton that featured a second half spoilt by a flurry of yellow cards.
Pablo Haysham ended his run of 13 games without a goal after heading home before Tiverton replied. The Bulls then went in front again just before half time when John Mills crossed towards the back post where Lance Smith arrived and converted with a diving header.
The hosts then levelled before Mike McGrath was sent for an early shower after picking up his second yellow in front of Tivvy’s highest crowd of the season so far - 620.
If asked for their views on the game I would imagine most Hereford supporters would sum the match up with the same two words; THE REF!
Meanwhile Weymouth come into the game after having their run of six league wins ended by a determined Frome side. In an open and well-balanced match, it was the away team who took their chances and ended up taking all three points with 2-0 score line.
Before Tuesday night’s fixtures the Terras striker Brandon Goodship had scored in all his last six league games but neither him, Harry Baker or once Bournemouth, Crawly and Portsmouth forward Matt Tubbs could find a way past a solid Frome side.
According to the Dorset Echo, manager Mark Molesley will have a fully-fit squad to choose from, with the exception of Mark Cooper, who is set to undergo a late fitness test on a dead leg before the game.
From a Hereford viewpoint looking ahead to this weekend’s fixture it is thought that Preen and Page will have recovered from their concussions and may feature but are unlikely to start.
Mike McGrath’s suspension won’t have kicked in by the weekend meaning the midfielder will be available for the tie however Calvin Dinsley is still out with his hamstring injury.
Mike Symons will serve the second game of his two-match suspension on Saturday. After never being sent off before in his career the striker has picked up two reds in the last seven weeks. Other forward options will most probably include Keyon Reffell who came off the bench in mid-week and looked lively.
News on a new left back is quiet at the moment with the club still awaiting response to the third bid. The player in question is rumoured to be Danny Greenslade from Weston Super Mare.
While this game would be an ideal start for a new player it is unlikely any deal will be struck before the weekend and it’s thought Jimmy Oates will cover the left back position for the third game in a row.
In a relatively big competition like the FA Trophy with sizeable prize money available its thought that Weymouth will play close to their strongest XI. With a slightly more favourable fixture list compared to Hereford’s, it will most likely be Beadle making the changes.
