Kettering Stay Top Of Southern Premier League

It's now 116 from 115 for John Mills
The Southern Premier League Round-Up, which says little about Hereford's victory maybe because some of the information on the Southern League Site is incorrect, is written by Steve Whitney.

Kettering Town recorded their biggest win of the season in front of their biggest home crowd – 857 – as they won 5-0 at Latimer Park against Merthyr Town to remain three points clear at the top of the Evo-Stik League South Premier table on Saturday.
Despite the scoreline, the Martyrs were always in the game, but some superior finishing by the Poppies proved the difference.
Matty Stevens bagged a brace in the 24th and 44th minutes, and Aaron O’Connor on 63 minutes, Gary Stohrer on 79 minutes and Ben Toseland 3 minutes from time completed the Poppies nap hand.
Slough Town are second after an Arbour Park crowd of 760 saw them beat Biggleswade Town 2-1.
The Rebels had to come back from being a 24th minute Shane Hill goal down for the Waders.
But Warren Harris equalised just before the break and a goal from Brad Wadkins 10 minutes from the end sealed the home side`s victory.

A fantastic crowd of 2,596 at Edgar Street enjoyed seeing a 4-1 win for third-placed Hereford FC against struggling Dorchester Town.

King`s Lynn Town and Redditch United complete the top five, but only the latter managed a win on Saturday.
Lynn dropped to fourth after losing 3-1 at the Bob Lucas Stadium to Weymouth in front of 662.
Brandon Goodship gave the Terras a 28th minute lead that Michael Gash eventually cancelled out after 69 minutes.
But Goodship bagged his second of the game to restore Weymouth`s lead 15 minutes from time and Charlie Davis ensured Lynn endured a miserable long trek home with a third in the 84th minute.
Redditch, meanwhile, pushed Kings Langley down to fourth-bottom after winning 2-1 in Hertfordshire.
The home side led through Dean Hitchcock`s early 9th minute penalty until 19 minutes from time when Dior Angus equalised.
And 5 minutes later, it was Angus who won it from the spot for the Reds.
Dunstable Town finally broke their duck at the tenth attempt, beating Farnborough 1-0 at Creasey Park.
A goal from Andrew Osei-Bonsu gave the Duns their first win of 2017/18.
Gosport Borough, however, are still searching for theirs after they were beaten 3-1 at Privett Park by fellow relegated side Bishop`s Stortford.
Tyrique Hyde-Skerritt put the Blues in front after 21 minutes and Mark Hughes gave them a two-goal cushion in the 35th minute.
Hyde-Skerritt added his second and the visitors third in the 71st minute, with Ifi Onwuachu replying for beleaguered Boro 6 minutes later.
St Ives Town are third-bottom after going down to a 2-1 home defeat to Tiverton Town.
And that, despite taking a 26th minute lead through Ben Seymour-Shove.
Owen Howe`s brace right on half-time and then 9 minutes from time won it for the Yellows.
Hitchin Town have hit a bit of form and won 4-0 at Top Field in front of a good crowd of 755 against Stratford Town.
Brett Donnelly`s brace in the 18th and 33rd minutes gave the Canaries a 2-0 interval lead.
And another brace, this time from Tremayne Charles in the 79th and 87th minutes, killed Stratford off.
Royston Town leap-frogged Chesham United into thirteenth in the table after beating the Generals 2-1 at The Meadow.
John Frendo broke the deadlock to put the Crows in front after 52 minutes.
Adam Marriott then doubled the visitors lead on 64 minutes.
On-loan Giusseppe Iaciofano reduced the deficit 18 minutes from time, but the Crows held on for three good points.
New signing from Hartley Wintney, Sam Argent, celebrated his Basingstoke Town debut with a brace to help them beat Banbury United at the Camrose.
He took only 5 minutes to open his account for his new club.
Tom Winters equalised right on half-time, only for Ashleigh Artwell to restore Basingstoke`s lead in the 76th minute, with Argent making sure with his second and the hosts third in stoppage time.
The other game on Saturday saw St Neots Town battle back from 2-0 down at Frome Town to earn a point.
Oliver Knight and Joel Raynes scored either side of the break to give the Somerset side their advantage.
But Dylan Williams on the hour-mark and Dion Sembie-Ferris 15 minutes from time earned the Saints a point.
