In his post match interview after the defeat of Weymouth 4-1 this afternoon in the FA Trophy, Hereford manager Peter Beadle felt the victory was 'fortuitous at times'.
"We rode our luck certainly first half," said Beadle.
"First minute Horsell had to make a fantastic stop and then, I wouldn't say against the run of play but without really creating too much, we found ourselves two goals up.
"A liitle bit disappointed with not the momentum of the game but maybe the mentality because we didn't seem to start particularly well and it took us a little while to get up and running.
"And even second half, ball goes out of play for a corner and you've got players not even looking at the ball.
"If they play it short we react too late. Then they get a goal and their back in the game.
"Then minutes into the second half we're going down the slope with the wind we should be comfortable.
"In the end we make it comfortable we score a fantastic third goal, the first three goals were brilliant, and then in the end we were a little bit fortuitous with the fourth I think, because I think on another day the referee would have stopped the game come back and maybe made us redo it. But we got away with it.
"Maybe it wasn't a 4-1 performance but I certainly thought we did enough to be in front but maybe it should have been closer than it was."
Beadle made just one change from last Tuesday.
"We haven't got enough to field everyone else. Keyon is not fully fit so he has played today with a few bumps and bruises. Garyn hasn't done anything since his knock only a bit of work once this week, Pagey the same. Jamie Bird was great the last couple of games but he looked a liitle bit tired on Tuesday so he's only a young man so we gave him a bit of a breather.
"And when you take them out of it and put them on the bench you are not left with very much after that. Dinsley is still to come back.
"The key factor is the momentum, you want momentum.
"I feel this is a competition we can do well in, there's obviously valuable prize money for it and I think that continual momentum of winning games is important and as I've said before I don't think if we had left out Pablo and Jamie and brought in Keyon and Garyn or Pagey, does that make us weaker?
"We are very lucky to have a strong squad but I just thought it was important that those lads who played on Tuesday, they were excellent on Tuesday, deserved another chance to play again and put in a decent performance.
"It was an okay performance but probably not a champagne 4-1 performance but we'll take it.
"We got Garyn on the pitch to get a little bit of game time and then the same with Adam after their small concussions or whatever they were.
"So now we've put this game to bed, we've got one or two a bit stiff or sore, we may look to change it a bit with one or two on Tuesday."
Telford had a scout at the game and as interviewer Keith Hall said would now know everything about John Mills.
"I think everyone knows about John Mills, you look at his goal record it's absolutely frightening. He throughly deserved his man of the match today. His goals were fantastic. His workrate was brilliant. He's tracking
back into the box, slide tackling towards the end and that's what we ask of John that he does his bit for the team and he's done that today.
"I thought he was brilliant as in his goals were fantastic, work rate was good, but that's what I expect each week from everyone not only John. But he certainly deserved his man of the match today."
Could the cup games be a distraction, some games will need to be postponed?
"Kings Lynn away disappears now as it's the date of the next round, that will be midweek. But this is what we want. Surely we want to be successful in everything we do. Sometimes something has to give, we don't want it to be the League, but we can't help winning games.
"We want to win games. We want to keep going. We don't want to purposely lose a game. You change the team around. You look at the outfield subs today if we had put them on the pitch does that make us any weaker? No.
"Dinsley to come back. If he plays does that make us any weaker? No not at all.
"So we want to keep this momentum going and if we have to go there and prepare to go there then so be it. It's the same. King's Lynn have won their game today so it would have been put back anyway so it one of those that you don't want to lose any matches. I feel it's a competition we can do well in.
"We're in the FA Cup first round with the really tough game next Saturday. In between that we have our game in hand on Tuesday and it's important we take care of that now. Outside of looking forward to Tuesday we don't look any further than that.
"We'll look forward to the draw for the next round. Hopefully we'll get a home one and not travel anywhere.
"But I'm just pleased with the boys with their character. It's been a long few weeks and this is the difference with the step-up in leagues. Games come thick and fast and they are all teams who all have quality.
"Even the game on Tuesday we know if we don't prepare right we're going to make it hard work for ourselves and they will cause us a problem.
"So it's really important that we focus on every game as we go and the players keep giving what they are giving and the supporters keep with them.
"And if we're winning games then I'm a happy man."
