Preview: AFC Telford United vs Hereford

Hereford travel to fellow phoenix club AFC Telford United this afternoon for a preseason friendly.

The Bulls are yet to face the National League North side since reforming, but Hereford United did play their Shropshire neighbours frequently over the years.

The most recent meeting was on the final day of the 2012/13 season, which was the Bulls' first season back in the Conference. Hereford had already secured a 6th-placed finish, and comfortably beat the Bucks 4-0.

Sam Clucas, who had just been named as player of the year, scored twice, with Marlon Jackson and Josh O'Keefe also finding the back of the net.

Meanwhile, Telford's new manager Rob Edwards will be keen for his side to put in an improved performance compared to Thursday night - a young Bucks side were thrashed 14-1 by Welsh Premier side The New Saints.

His arrival is part of a wider shake-up at the club, apparently as a result of new investment. BBC Shropshire's Nick Southall was told it was too good to turn down (link).

For Bulls fans making the journey, one option is to take the train.
For fans wanting to make their way straight to the ground, catch the 12:28 Holyhead service from Hereford, changing at Shrewbury to catch the train towards Wellington. The New Bucks Head stadium is a 15/20 minute walk from Wellington station.

But for those driving, the postcode is TF1 2TU. Allow one and half hours, and there's ample parking at the stadium (charged at £3).

Hereford manager Peter Beadle will be without Mike Symons, Ryan Green and Calvin Dinsley who are away, but it's hoped Garyn Preen will have recovered from the knock he picked up last weekend.

New signing Lance Smith should also play a part in the game, he trained on Thursday night after returning from holiday.
