Dorchester Snap Up Experienced Keeper

Dorchester Town have agreed terms with experienced goalkeeper Chris Weale, who drops back to non-league.

The 35-year old started his senior career at Yeovil in 2000 prior to their promotion to the Football League, making 163 appearances in his six year stay at the club.

After time at Bristol City, he went on to rack-up 75 appearances for Leicester in the Championship, before a move to Shrewsbury in 2012.

He has most recently been with Derby, but left the club in January by mutual consent.

The Bulls will meet the Magpies this coming season in the Southern Premier. Weale played two games between the sticks for Hereford during two separate loan spells in 2007 and 2008.

While on loan at League One Yeovil in 2009, Weale scored a dramatic late equaliser against already-relegated Hereford as the sides drew 2-2.

Dorchester finished 18th in the Southern Premier last season.
