A supporters team including Stuart Fleetwood and Tyler Weir beat a Don Cooke select team 5-1 in last year's event |
A six-a-side tournament will be held at Hereford Lads Club on Sunday 28th May in memory of former Hereford United PA announcer Don Cooke.
Entry is £50 per team (maximum of 8 per team) with a cash prize and trophy for the winners.
It is hoped that as many local players/sides as possible will take part, but everyone is welcome to play and spectators are welcome.
Speaking about the event, Don's son Leon said: "My dad passed away in 2011 and every year I've held a memorial football match at Edgar Street to remember him.
"He was a huge part of local football being a referee for over 50 years.
"He worked at Hereford United for over 26 years, also volunteering at the Lads Club - that's why I'm holding the tournament there."
Both males and females can enter, but must be 16 or over. Those who would like to enter a side, the team needs to be entered and money paid in full by Saturday 20th May.
