South And West Weekend Review

John Mills Scored Both Hereford's Goals
Hereford FC`s lead at the top of the EVO-STIK League Southern Division One South & West table was 'cut' to seventeen points on Saturday after the Bulls were held to a 2-2 draw at mid-table Larkhall Athletic, writes Pitchero's Steve Whitney.

A crowd of 625 saw top scorer John Mills give the visitors an 18th minute lead that Joe Tumelty cancelled out on the half-hour mark. Mills` 29th goal of the season restored the Bulls` lead on the hour-mark but the battling Larks earned a good point through James Stinson 17 minutes from time.

Second-placed Tiverton Town won 2-0 at Ladysmead against second-bottom Wantage Town with another brace from Levi Landricombe in the 71st and 90th minutes.

Taunton Town are now third after they hammered Slimbridge 7-0 and Evesham United lost 4-1 at Winchester City.
Taunton played out the last 20-odd minutes without Shane White but were already 4-0 up and never in danger of losing to a Slimbridge side who have now lost seven in a row.
Jordan Rogers opened the scoring in the 15th minute, and they struck again five minutes later when Matt Wright glanced home from a long throw-in by Ed Palmer.
Another long throw from Palmer in the 34th minute led to Richard Thwaite heading into his own net and Sam Turlong also scored an own goal, turning in a cross by Pierce Mitchell in the 57th minute.
White received his second booking in the 68th minute and he was joined for an early shower by the home side`s Dean Turner but Taunton still looked comfortable and added three more goals - through Palmer from the spot on 80 minutes, Matt Buse three minutes later and Craig Veal a minute from time.
After Winchester`s experienced striker Robbie Matthews was sent-off in the opening minute against Evesham United, Stuart Green on 27th minute put City in front only for that to be cancelled out by Adam Mann just before the break.
Archie Haskayne made the on-field numbers even when he saw red and City went on to score three time in the final 11 minutes through Howard Neighbour, Andy Jenkinson and Green again.

Steve Claridge`s Salisbury FC side are fifth and hammered Swindon Supermarine 6-1 at their own WebbsWood Stadium.
And they had to come back from being an 11th minute Brad Hooper goal down to win, courtesy of a Tommy Wright hat-trick and singles from on-loan Brian Dutton, Justin Bennett and Taurean Roberts.
Sixth-placed Mangotsfield United remain in top five contention after a Lewis Powell brace saw them to a 2-0 win at neighbours Paulton Rovers.
At the other end of the table, Bridgwater Town are looking like needing snookers after a 2-0 defeat at Wimborne Town left them twelve points adrift of third-bottom Slimbridge, Jamie Davidson and Toby Holmes the second half Magpies scorers.
Elsewhere, AFC Totton pulled themselves up to 18th place after a 3-1 win at Yate Town with goals from Nat Sherborne, Charlie Gunson and Curtis Young – James Harding replying.
Barnstaple Town beat North Leigh 3-1 in Devon with a brace from Ryan Turner and a Jake Jenkins effort after Morgan Williams had levelled for the Oxfordshire side on the half-hour mark.
Adam Learoyd scored an 88th minute equaliser for hosts Didcot Town against Bishops Cleeve, whose Kirk Layton and Ben Hayes had them 2-1 up with 18 minutes remaining – George Jeacock scoring the other for the Railwaymen.
