A reminder about an event which will take place this afternoon at half-time during the Hereford v Evesham match.
This from Jane Griffiths who runs Hereford FC's Junior Bulls
Hi everyone, I'd like to tell you all about a fundraising event taking place at Edgar St on Monday 2nd Jan in aid of Breast Cancer that Hereford FC are supporting. Many of you know my good friend and JB helper Marce Furness who helps with GoH, Mascots, half time events and sometimes is around as a very friendly and funny club mascot but how many of you know that she once played at a high level for Hereford United's Ladies Football team? Marce and myself also worked together at HUFC back in the 90's when she ran the very successful Wyevern Pools.
During her playing years for HUFC she met a very good friend and fellow team mate called Julie who recently has been diagnosed with Breast Cancer. Julie, in spite of her illness is working tirelessly to raise awareness and money for Breast Cancer (this affects men as well as women). Julie's aim is to raise £37,000 over the next 12 months - 37 because that was her age when diagnosed.
On 2nd January Marce will be taking part in a head shave along with a few other girls in support of their friend and this event is taking place on pitch at half time along with support from many other girls from HFA ladies football. There will be a collection around the ground on the day and anyone who would like to sponsor Marce please come along to the JunIor Bull stand this Saturday - I'll get Marce to leave a sponsor form there. (The JB stand is outside Block A 12.30 - 2.40 pm).
The Little Princess Trust will be at Edgar St to collect the hair from the shave.
Please take a look at the link below to see all of Julie's fundraising events and read her story. Thank you for taking the time to read this, we hope you are able to support this event. See you all soon
