Another Defender Could Join Hereford

Having signed Mark Preece, Hereford manager Peter Beadle may be about to sign a second defender in a few days.

"Obviously Mark has come in," said Beadle.

"But we were looking to bring another one in that would have been available to play. It may still happen so we will wait and see.

"Mark is experienced and he's a more horrible version of Jamie Willets. He's had that old school bringing up. Hopefully he'll bring a leadership quality to the group.

"We need that dominating centre half who will communicate to everybody. His track record speaks for itself.

"We'll be back to having four centre halves as Chris is struggling with his ankle.

"We are a defender short at the moment and I think we need another one.

"If it comes off it'll be a good one for us. Another one that will bring, people might raise their eyebrows, even more experience to the team.

"Someone who has played at a much higher level than we have at the moment.

"I'm excited about it if it comes off."
