Adam Page has suffered a set-back in his quest to return to full fitness.
The former Hereford FC loanee was injured whilst training with Cheltenham FC.
According to Gloucester Live, Page suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury.
"It's a
horrible blow for the lad, it's unbelievable bad luck," said manager Gary Johnson.
"We've had a chat with him and his parents and we are going to look
after him.
"He had come back and was looking really, really strong and to have that happen is just massively unfortunate.
"He
was on course to earning a new deal, but we won't disown him. We are
very loyal at our club and we know that he is going to be a very good
player. He is just going to have to wait a bit longer."
