Youth Teams for 2016 / 17 season (Updated Information)
United
in the Community, the official player pathway of Hereford FC, is delighted
announce that an Under 19s team has been accepted into The National League U19
Alliance for the 2016/17 season, subject to approval from the Member Clubs at
the League's AGM on Thursday 23rd June.
The
National League U19 Alliance will replace the current "Football Conference
Youth Alliance".
This
new name will bring the competition into line with its parent competition The
National League with the rebrand having received the assent of The National
League itself and the Football Association.
Commenting
on the news, Nick Vaughan, Chairman of United of the Community, said:
"Our
education and football scholarship programme has been going 5 years now with
Course Leader Adam Jones achieving some excellent results with the students who
have since gone onto University. As the club hopefully climbs the football
pyramid over the coming seasons it is very important we are able to
offer our students the very best level of competitive football in addition to
good quality teaching"
He
added: "I would like to thank the National League for accepting our
application. This is a credit to everyone who helped to keep the Under 18s
going during extremely difficult circumstances when the old club folded last
year. I hope our students find will find the prospect of better football and
rekindling our old rivalry with Kidderminster Harriers an exciting one."
Founded
in 2000 the league allows semi-professional and professional teams to combine
football training with education of a national standard through a Football Club
& Education Provider partnership. The objective of the is to provide a high
quality experience for 16-19 year olds both on the pitch and through nationally
recognised educational qualifications.
Entry
into the National League Under 19s Alliance is predominantly for
players enrolled on the UITC education course.
The Midland
Floodlit Youth League is for any players wishing to represent Hereford FC Under
18s; this also includes any of the students representing the
club in the Under 19s Alliance.
**The next open trial now will take place on Wednesday, 1st
June, 4pm to 6pm at Belmont Abbey NOT as previously advertised**
The
trial will be led by Jamie Pitman supported by Adam Jones and Liam
