Hale To Climb Cathedral Tower To Fly Hereford FC Flag

Hereford FC chairman Jon Hale is set to climb the tower at Hereford Cathedral tomorrow morning along with the Dean of Hereford, the Very Reverend Michael Tavinor

When they reach the top they will help place a Hereford FC flag on the mast.

"When Hereford Cathedral contacted the club to suggest they would like to fly our flag from the tower this weekend we had no hesitation in saying ‘yes’," Hale told the Hereford OS.

"We feel honoured to have been asked by officials at the cathedral – to see our flag flown from such a beautiful, historic building will be another very special moment."

The Very Reverend Michael Tavinor commented to the OS.

"The Cathedral and Hereford FC, in their own ways, are vital parts of the community of Hereford – both speak of bringing people together – of community, partnership and teamwork.  At the cathedral we will be praying for the club as it has an exciting future ahead of it – and especially on Sunday.

"I hope that this may be a prelude for continuing partnership between cathedral and club.  Having the flag flying over the cathedral will say important things about this partnership."
