Hale Thanks Supporters

Hereford FC chairman Jon Hale has thanked supporters for their back of the new club in its first season.

This from Hereford FC:

On behalf of the Board of Directors, I would like to take the opportunity to thank everyone who turned out on the streets of Hereford yesterday to show their appreciation for the players’ tremendous efforts this season.
The turnout for the open bus tour was way in excess of what we imagined, and the players were truly humbled by your support. They were taken aback by the many hundreds of people lining the streets right along to the Shire Hall. Following their disappointment in losing at Wembley, yesterday was the perfect tonic for them to celebrate their winning three trophies and promotion with supporters.
The players and coaching staff have represented the club with huge pride this season, and deserve much praise for the way they have conducted themselves on and off the pitch. Their unprompted guard of honour for Morpeth on Sunday is testament to the respect they have shown for other teams this season. The bond between the team and supporters is as strong as I can ever remember at this club.
I’d also like to thank all our supporters for their wonderful backing of the team home and away this season – and of course at Wembley.
The people of Herefordshire and the wider community have been absolutely brilliant in their backing of the club. It has been fantastic to see such huge crowds at Edgar Street plus big followings away, to see so many families coming to games, to see schools and community groups engaging with the club and – of course – to see the many thousands of people making the trip to Wembley to support Hereford FC.
We are blessed with an incredible fanbase who have given the team such a huge lift in every game we have played this season and I hope you will all come back next season to continue our journey in the Southern League South & West and the FA Cup and FA Trophy both of which we enter for the first time as Hereford FC.
Now is a time for the staff to take a breather ahead of season ticket sales starting on 1st June – they together with the most fantastic group of volunteers, have worked tirelessly behind the scenes from day one, and the Wembley trip meant a huge increase in work load whilst also extending the season for players and management.
The effort that has been afforded Hereford FC by a huge number of people has made Hereford FC a very special place to be around this season. We have to embrace that now, keep the momentum rolling and approach next season with the same dedication, belief and support as we did this. I believe this club can one day achieve football league status again, and with your continued support we will get there.
I wish you all a fantastic summer, and see you at Pegasus on 14 July.
Jon Hale
