Final Game Of The Season For U16's

Final Match for Young Bulls - Newport County (U16) vs Hereford FC (U16)

Saturday, 7th May,

The Under 16s travelled to play Newport County for their last match of the season, producing a fantastic team performance to run out winners 3-2.
The team dominated the first half for long periods with the midfield and defence dominant. They took the lead through a fine through-ball down the left from Harry Franklin to Charlie Meek who then delivered a pinpoint pass into the area for strike partner Greg Preece to finish with aplomb.
H/ T: 1-0
The team started off the second half strongly with Jamie Davies adding a second goal early on with a neat header before Newport got a goal back following a defensive mix-up. However, this was later compensated with the Bulls making it 3-1 through Alex Lancett who cut in from the left and produced an excellent strike to beat the Newport goalkeeper. Following a long layoff with only two matches in the past six weeks the U16s began to tire with Newport scoring again with ten minutes to go.
 F / T: 3-2
Speaking after match, Colin Preece, Under 16s Head Coach, said: "This was a great win from a squad of a very talented players who have proved a real pleasure to manage."
The Board of Trustees at UITC would like to express their sincere thanks to Colin for coming in at the end of last year to manage the team. It has been a very tough season for this age group with a very disjointed fixture list and change in management halfway through the season. However, the players have come through extremely well and throughout their time with UITC have been an enormous credit to us.
Colin took on this challenging role very willingly as did his Assistant Coach Ben Archer.
We are also very grateful to the parents who have again provided unstinting support throughout the season.
Finally, we would like to wish all the players the very best of luck in their GCSE’s that start next week.
