Missed Penalty Cost Us Said Long

Alvechurch manager Ian Long spoke to BBC Hereford and Worcester after last night's loss to Hereford.

"I don't think we did ourselves justice today," said Long.

"Conditions weren't great for either side but at the same time I think we were sloppy in possession.

"All in all disappointed. Possibly a few nerves flying around.

"At the end we had a good go but the missed penalty, it's been the story of the season, they've cost us points.

"I thought the ball into Symons was a lot better and I thought Haysham got a few times when he managed to drop off, pick the ball up, turn and drive into our back four which was concerning.

"Didn't happen so much in the second half as we addressed it at half time.

"I think on the balance of play Hereford just about shaded it and derserved the three points in all fairness.

"We know potentially Hereford have probably got one hand on it, but there's still plenty to play for."
