Long Eaton - One Of The Better Grounds In The Midland Premier League

Last night's visit to Long Eaton United was enjoyed by supporters not only for the result but also for good facilities at the club.

Car parking in particular was easy and well stewarded. There was a good size stand for this league and the pitch itself appeared to have withstood the worst of the winter weather quite well.

"The pitch was alright," Hereford manager Peter Beadle told BN.

"Bit dry, a little bit bobbly but okay.

One point of interest was that the dug-outs seemed a long way from each other.

"Yes they are," said Beadle.

"Taunton and Cirencester are the same. Circencester's are probably a bit further apart, they are on the edge of each box."

Given the stillness of the evening, Beadle's voice could easily be heard but there was little from the home dug-out.

"Their manager was playing that's why," said Beadle.

"Not sure I could play, I prefer to keep myself ready for Wembley Number 9!"

It was put to Beadle that John Trewick was registered to play when he was in charge.

"I think we would be really desperate if I had to play."
