Hereford Directors Visit Wembley

Earlier this week several Hereford FC directors visited Wembley to discuss preparations for the FA Vase Final. They were given a tour of the stadium whilst on site. However one of the first things they noticed was a pair of rugby posts.

"They were setting up for some sort of rugby match," football director Martin Watson told BN.

"The one suite was decked out in Saracens pictures and colours and all sorts. It wasn't to my liking.

"They showed us around. Later they fed us and sat us around a table and went through all the various rules and regulations.

"They were very accomodating as to what they were able to fit in."

The FA are very pleased with ticket sales to date despite the club not yet receiving any for it to sell.

"We're not expecting them for a couple more weeks.

"One of them said they were literally sat there watching the computer screen watching the seats disappear one by one, in some cases more than one.

"We know of a block booking of one hundred and seventy, people are taking it on.

"I've no idea how many coaches are going down but there's going to be a fair old convoy.

"The figure they gave us was just under 16,000. As far as I'm aware that is purely our end. It is more than half of what they've sold so far."

Drum?

"The rules state you can't have it in level two, yet the drum is in level two and they turned round and said that's fine. It's their own rules.

"We are trying to get what we need to get and they are being as accommodating as they can be."

Bull?

"Don't know, not my department!

"I don't think it's anything Wembley have ever done, I don't think they've got a Health and Safety manual on it.

"It's going to be new ground even for them. All the events they've held they don't tend to host live Bulls.

"I think it's going to be something that is going to have a fair bit of discussion yet.

"When we did the Dunkirk one it was talked about far more than a month before. It is something that is going to have to be talked about by people who know a lot more about it than I do."

Wembley can't come too soon?

"It is a sort of a waiting game but the good thing is we can put it in the back of our minds and concentrate on the league.

"At the end of the day that is the number one target, anything else is a bonus."
