Save From Horsell Might Prove Crucial Said Purdie

Rob Purdie About To Take A Throw In
Rob Purdie felt that the save from Martin Horsell was crucial in ensuring Hereford won yesterday's FA Vase game against Salisbury.

"That one goal lead might prove crucial, it also gives us a platform to push on from," Purdie told BBC Hereford and Worcester.

"First half I think we did really well, we really controlled the game.

"Second half after the goal we kind of took our foot off the gas a little bit, we didn't maintain our game management as well.

"I think with 15 minutes to go I think it was a slight case of both teams were happy enough with the scoreline. They were happy to take us back only a goal down, we were happy to go to them with a goal up.

"Ross has hit the bar and then the post, Simmo hit the post as well and then the save from Horsell was massive for us because they had scored that and it goes to 1-1 in the last few minutes it gives them that incentive, it gives them that boost and it would have knocked us down.

"It's a great save from Horsell and it might prove crucial."

4683 spectators watched the game.

Ryan Green
"I said to Greeny in the warm up this is like being back in the League because the other side was half full. They brought 500/600 and it felt like the good old days again.

"If the fans bring what they brought today next week and we do the same on the pitch then hopefully got a big thing to do in May down at Wembley."
