It Was The Right Call Said Beadle

Hereford FC manager Peter Beadle said he was disappointed that this afternoon's game had been abandoned but felt it was the correct decision.

"I'm all the more disappointed because it was a really good game," said Beadle.

"It was open, it was end to end, chances at both ends, it was a little bit disappointing but it was the right call, of course it is. You can see the weather we've had.

"To get the games we've had played up to now have been a phenominal effort from the ground staff here, even to get today played with the way the pitch was at the start of the week was phenominal.

"Unfortunately the weather has beaten us, it's not anything we've done, it's just one of those things."

It had been an enjoyable game to watch.

"Fantastic game, hopefully we can get the pitch dried out and we have another go this week or next.

"It will be interesting to see how both teams fare in the second game having a little taster of today.

"In a way it's not ideal because we would have liked to have carried on at 3-1 up but now we've got to do it again.

"I think we looked more of a threat than they did even though they were a huge threat but we looked like we could finish it off.

"Like I said we got the three and if we could have got through twenty minutes of the second half without a goal or get another one ourselves it would kill the game off.

"We were in the ascendancy without doubt.

"They'll say probably the opposite because they've had chances, they've had the penalty and hit the bar but we've also had other chances other than the three we scored. So it could have been half-time at 5 or 6-3 almost. But it wasn't to be.

"They've shown what they are about, they've shown why they are top of their league. They've got some fantastic players and we are going to need to be at it again when the next game comes around."
