Hereford FC manager Peter Beadle felt his side could have scored more goals in the second half of this afternoon's game against Coventry Sphinx who hadn't played for the last ten days.
"It was always going to be tough because if you look at their last five results and they've lost by the odd goal to some teams we've seen recently and they've done extremely well so we knew it was going to be a tough game," said Beadle in his post match press conference.
"The fact they hadn't played for ten days as well so they've had a bit of a rest, and we only played 48 hours ago so it was always going to be tough.
"I said to the lads just before the game we need to make sure we don't have any complacency because they hadn't had a game.
"They've had a bit of a rest, they've been a decent side, tough to beat recently.
"We were not quite at it first half, disappointed, but certainly second half we were much better and much more fluid. We could have scored more.
"I thought they played well, they had some lively forwards and I said afterwards why did we wait to half-time for us to explain what to do to nullify the threat.
"We did something about it at half-time and they weren't a threat at all second half. And it's very small changes to the way we played.
"I just said to them why do we have to shout it on, there's enough experience, enough young leaders out there. Willets have been a captain, Summers has been a captain, Bonella has been a captain, Edwards is the captain, Purds and Green have got mountains of experience why did we have to wait to have time to put it right, they should know what they are doing.
"I thought their little lad in the hole, number 10, and the 7. The pair of them were excellent, very sharp and lively and they caused us problems today.
"But we managed to see it through to half-time and then made a few changes like where and where not to be and second half it was a completely different game.
"They were causing us a problem with their player in the pocket, in the hole behind the front man and the way to stop him from being a problem is to stop the ball getting to him so to do that we had to press a bit further up the pitch.
"Our midfield two found it hard today because they weren't sure whether to press the midfield players but they were worried about the players in the pocket. So we needed to close the gaps between the backline and the midfield players so that nullified his threat.
"Second half we did it and he hardly got a kick so it's about everyone understanding what it is we are trying to do. We put it into effect and they weren't a threat second half."
