The Len Weston Stand Is Back

Hereford FC have confirmed that Westons Cider have signed a two year sponsorship deal, said to be worth £7000, which will include the rebranding of the stand on the side of Edgar Street which adjoins the A49 as the Len Weston Stand.

It was revealed by BN in October that Westons and the club were in 'advanced discussions' about rebranding the stand.

The Len Weston Stand Was Completed in 1973

This from Hereford FC;

Len joined the club board in 1946, he became club chairman in 1949 and remained involved, finally as club president, until his death in 1971. Len became known as ‘Mr Hereford United’ after his commitment to the club and the naming of the stand, built in 1973, was a tribute to him for his support.
The partnership came about after discussions between the club and Westons Cider Commercial Director, Geoff Bradman over the summer.
Speaking about the agreement, Geoff said: “Westons Cider had been involved with the club for many years so when the opportunity came up to rebrand the Len Weston Stand we had no doubts to say ‘yes’. We are really looking forward to developing our relationship for the long term, which is very exciting.”
Hereford FC Chairman, John Hale said “We are absolutely delighted to have agreed this deal with Westons Cider. To most Hereford fans the stand has always been known as the Len Weston Stand so it will be great to see it branded in the way it should be.”
For Helen Thomas, Managing Director of Westons Cider and great niece of Len Weston, the return to Edgar
Street is a special one. “I am delighted to be involved in the new deal. My great uncle Leonard was a true supporter of Hereford and he would’ve been so pleased to see the continued involvement with the club and ourselves. For me, to have the opportunity to bring back his name to the heart of the action – back to this fantastic stand – is a very proud moment.”

The official launch of the newly rebranded stand will be at the Boxing Day derby of Hereford FC v Westfields. Westons will also be onsite with their cider sampling bar, serving up some festive cheer before the kick off!
