Rivers Joins Swindon Supermarine On Dual Deal

Swindon Supermarine FC have reported that Hereford FC goalkeeper Harvey Rivers has joined them on a dual registration deal.

This from Swindon Supermarine FC:

Manager Dave Webb is pleased to announce the signing of goalkeeper Harvey Rivers from Hereford FC this morning on a dual registration with the Bulls. Harvey comes into the squad to cover for the loss of Matt Bulman's whose knee injury he suffered at Didcot last week is going to keep him out for at least ten weeks.

The 20-year-old keeper signed for the newly-formed Hereford FC at the start of this season following his departure from Gloucester City. He was ever present for the Bulls until the arrival of former Yate Town keeper Martin Horsell at the start of December.

Harvey was a youth team player at Hereford before doing his scholarship at Cheltenham Town. He then signed for Gloucester City in the summer of 2014 but found first-team opportunities limited so he left the Tigers at the start of this season to play more regularly. Whilst at Gloucester City he also had loan spells at fellow South & West Division sides Cinderford Town and Bishops Cleeve.

At the time, Hereford FC manager Pete Beadle, who had a short spell working at Cheltenham's Centre of Excellence before joining Hereford United as director of Youth football, said: "Young keeper Harvey Rivers - who started out at Edgar Street before doing his scholarship at Cheltenham Town - was second choice goalkeeper at Gloucester City. "He was offered new terms for 2015/16 by the Conference North side after playing well in their final game of the season, but opted to come to Hereford instead.

Welcome to Swindon Supermarine FC Harvey, we hope your time at Marine is a successful one.
