Alvechurch boss Ian Long says the games between his side, Heanor, and the Bulls will determine the Midland Football League title.
The Church take on Heanor the week before Christmas, but wait until January until taking on the Bulls at Edgar Street, with Long telling the Redditch Advertiser: “The league is very tight and those head-to-head games will determine who wins the league.
“Obviously, we have yet to play Heanor or Hereford at all so those will be important games. But there are number of teams below us who could also have a say.”
Long believes his side are getting better and produced 'our most complete display of the season' in beating Coleshill 3-0; 'we could have scored ten goals' added Long, whose side beat Shepshed 4-1 yesterday to keep up the pace. Heanor bounced back from their loss against Sporting Khalsa last week to beat Boldmere 7-2.
Alvechurch will play two League matches before either the Bulls or Heanor play in the competition again. They have a pair of rearranged home games against Westfields on Tuesday, and Quorn a week later, before all three sides have League matches on the 28th against teams in the bottom half of the table.
